The Mill Road Community Space (MRCS) is excited to announce that a songwriting course for young musicians, songwriters and poets (12-18 years) will be offered at MRCS by local, award-winning songwriter, Ian Tamblyn, in January 2019. “What’s in the Song” is a new community initiative of the Ottawa CityFolk festival organization, which is bringing together professional, established local songwriters and interested youth in 5 communities for a 10 week course in songwriting. CityFolk chose Chelsea to be one of those communities and MRCS to be the partner organization! Classes will run for an hour and a half.
Near the end of the 10 weeks, participants will perform their songs at a coffee house to which the community will be invited. All those who complete the course will receive 2 passes to the 2019 CityFolk festival. The cost for the 10 week course is $150. For more information and to register please contact: Ian Tamblyn at [email protected].
